The Programme
Your book has more commercial life ahead of it than behind it. This is how you go and get it.
Author in Command is a five-week strategic programme for serious non-fiction authors who want to build the long-term life of their books after publication.
Through live seminars, practical frameworks and intelligent use of AI, you will develop the knowledge, tools and confidence to become the steward of your work beyond the launch.

Is this programme for you?
Author in Command is designed for authors who have invested deeply in creating a substantial work and want to ensure that its ideas continue to reach the people who need them.
It is for authors who:
-
have written, published or are preparing to publish a non-fiction book built around significant ideas, research or expertise;
-
recognise that publication is not the end of their work, but the beginning of a new stage in their relationship with readers;
-
want to develop a thoughtful, long-term strategy for extending the reach and influence of their book;
-
are interested in using AI intelligently as a tool for research, exploration, creativity and connection, while remaining fully in control of their own voice and judgement;
-
are prepared to take an active role in guiding the future life of their work.
Whether your book has recently been published, your launch period has passed, or you are preparing for publication, Author in Command provides the framework to help you move forward with clarity and purpose.

How the Programme Works
Five 90-minute live sessions. Structured, substantive, and built for serious thinking.
Each session combines focused teaching with guided practical exercises, structured discussion, and hands-on strategic work on your own book.
This is not passive learning. Every session produces material you can use.
Sessions are delivered live online, in a working group environment where the quality of the conversation is as valuable as the content itself.
Between sessions, you work with the 180-page Author Strategy Planner — a companion document designed to deepen in value over time, not consumed once and shelved.

The Five Sessions
Author in Command is structured as five live online sessions that take you through the journey of becoming the steward of your book after publication.
Each session builds on the last. You begin by understanding your new role as an author beyond publication. You then develop the narrative clarity, strategic thinking and practical systems needed to help your work continue reaching readers, supported by thoughtful use of AI.
By the end of the programme, you will have a clear framework for guiding the long-term life of your book.
SESSION 1 - FROM AUTHOR TO STEWARD:
Understanding your new role after publication
Writing and publishing a book is a remarkable achievement. But publication changes the nature of your responsibility.
This opening session introduces the idea of authorship beyond the launch period and explores what it means to become the steward of your work. You will consider why publication should be viewed not as the conclusion of the creative process, but as the moment when a new stage begins.
Together, we will examine how authors can move beyond thinking only about promotion and begin to understand the deeper responsibility of guiding their ideas as they enter the world.
By the end of this session, you will have a clearer understanding of the opportunity ahead and the role you can play in shaping the future of your book.
SESSION 2 - THE STORY YOUR BOOK CONTINUES TO TELL:
Finding the enduring narrative within your work
Every meaningful book contains a central idea that connects the author's knowledge with the questions, challenges and ambitions of its readers.
This session explores how to identify and strengthen that underlying narrative. You will examine the deeper purpose of your book, the ideas that give it lasting relevance and the ways in which its message can continue to resonate beyond the moment of publication.
The focus is not on rewriting your book, but on understanding the thread that allows its ideas to travel further.
By the end of this session, you will have greater clarity about what your book stands for, why it matters and how to communicate its continuing value.
SESSION 3 - AI AS YOUR STRATEGIC THINKING PARTNER:
Using AI without losing your authorship
Artificial intelligence has created extraordinary new possibilities for authors. Used well, it can become a powerful thinking partner. Used carelessly, it can create noise and distance an author from their own voice.
This session focuses on developing an intelligent relationship with AI. You will explore how to provide the context and guidance that allow AI to support your thinking, while ensuring that your judgement, experience and creativity remain at the centre of the process.
The goal is not to automate authorship. It is to expand what is possible when human insight and technology work together.
By the end of this session, you will understand how to use AI strategically while remaining fully in command of your ideas and your voice.
SESSION 4 - BUILDING YOUR AUTHOR-LED SYSTEM:
Creating the structure that allows your book to keep growing
A book's long-term influence rarely happens by accident. It develops through thoughtful choices about relationships, communication and the ways in which ideas continue to reach the people who need them.
This session focuses on creating the foundations for that ongoing journey. You will explore how to build meaningful connections with readers, how to think about the difference between owned and rented attention, and how to create assets and channels that allow your work to continue developing over time.
The emphasis is on building a sustainable approach that reflects who you are as an author.
By the end of this session, you will have a practical framework for creating continued connection between your work and your readers.
SESSION 5 - YOUR PERSONAL ACTION PLAN:
Turning ideas into a strategy for the future
The final session brings together everything you have explored throughout the programme.
You will reflect on the insights gained, the tools developed and the possibilities that lie ahead. Together, these become the foundation of your own personal strategy for the continuing life of your book.
Rather than leaving with a collection of ideas, you will leave with a clear sense of direction: what to do next, how to use AI effectively, how to maintain momentum and how to continue developing your relationship with readers.
By the end of this session, you will have a personal roadmap for taking ownership of the future of your book.
The journey continues beyond the programme
Author in Command is not designed to end when the final session finishes.
You leave with more than new knowledge. You leave with a different way of thinking about your role as an author.
A framework for making decisions.
A clearer understanding of your readers.
A strategic approach to technology.
And the confidence to guide your book into its next chapter.

What Participants Receive
You will leave the programme with:
✦ A clear strategic narrative for your book — the language that makes it findable, describable, and worth returning to
✦ A reframed understanding of your commercial role after publication — and the confidence to act on it
✦ A practical, author-led AI system for reaching new readers and sustaining long-term sales
✦ A long-term reader engagement plan built around your specific book and its particular audience
✦ A 90-day action plan, grounded in the work of the five sessions, with clear next steps
✦ A 30-day strategy review, to assess what's working and sharpen what isn't
✦ The 180-page Author Strategy Planner — a working document that deepens in value as your book's life unfolds
Everything is designed to be used long after the programme concludes. This is not a course you complete. It is a strategic foundation you build on.
The Investment
Participation in Author in Command: £995 paid in full, or 2 x £525.
Consider what this investment is working against.
A book that took years to write and thousands of pounds to bring to publication. A readership that exists but hasn't yet been reached. A commercial long tail that is, at this moment, either being designed or drifting.
The return on a single additional year of sustained book sales — reached through clearer positioning, intelligent use of AI, and a designed reader engagement strategy — will, for most authors, significantly exceed the cost of the programme.
This is not an expense. It is the investment that makes the earlier investment pay.
A Note for Founding Authors
The first international intake of Author inCommand is offered at a founding rate of £695, or 2 x £375.
This rate is available to the first intake only and will not be repeated. The authors who join at this stage are not simply early participants, they are the people this programme was built for, and their experience will shape everything that follows.
If you are ready to take that step, your place is waiting.
Writing the book was the first act.
What follows is authorship by other means.
Author in Command is for those ready to step into that — with intelligence, with strategy, and with the full commercial ambition the work deserves.
