The next Author in Command cohort begins on Saturday 23 January 2027, with five live online sessions on consecutive Saturdays, (11:00 am–12:30 pm New York time (EST) / 4:00–5:30 pm UK time), concluding on 20 February. Applications are now open. We review each application for suitability and readiness, and successful applicants will receive an invitation to book their place.

Author in Command is for serious non-fiction authors who want to take a more deliberate role in the future of their book—and explore how AI can support their thinking while preserving their authority over the work.

You may already be published, or approaching publication with a substantially completed manuscript. What matters is that you have a book ready to work with, a commitment to its future, and the willingness to participate fully.

We review each application to understand your book, your ambitions and your readiness for the programme. This helps us bring together a cohort of authors who can benefit from the work and contribute thoughtfully to the group.

Before You Apply

You will get the most from Author in Command if you have a published non-fiction book, or a substantially completed manuscript approaching publication, whose future you are ready to work on.

The programme comprises five live online sessions, supported by a printed Strategy Planner and exercises to complete between meetings. Before booking, please make sure you can attend all five sessions and allow time for the preparation: each stage builds on the thinking developed in the previous one.

You do not need previous experience of AI. You do need a willingness to explore it thoughtfully and to complete the guided technical setup before the first session. You will also need a ChatGPT Plus subscription during the programme (approximately US$20 per month).

Participation in Author in Command costs £699 for UK bookings or US$997 for US bookings, including five live online sessions, your printed Author Strategy Planner and accompanying materials.

No payment is required when you apply. If your application is successful, you can review the confirmed session dates before deciding whether to book.
